Mahua Moitra: In the midst of the escalating ‘cash for query’ controversy involving TMC MP Mahua Moitra, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has alleged that efforts are underway to influence a key witness, Darshan Hiranandani. He claimed that Moitra, whom he referred to as ‘Dubai Didi,’ is in contact with the businessman and urged the Lok Sabha speaker to take action in response.
Allegations of Witness Tampering in ‘Cash for Query’ Row Involving TMC MP Mahua Moitra and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey
According to Dubey, there is evidence to suggest that Darshan Hiranandani and ‘Dubai Didi’ (MP Mahua Moitra) are communicating. He posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), expressing concern that there might be an attempt to tamper with the witness.
He pointed out that both Mahua Moitra and Raja Ram Pal were involved in parliamentary inquiries regarding financial matters
In another social media post, Dubey drew a comparison between Moitra and former Congress MP Raja Ram Pal, emphasizing that while the latter was modest, Moitra appears to have affiliations with wealthy individuals. He pointed out that both Mahua Moitra and Raja Ram Pal were involved in parliamentary inquiries regarding financial matters, leading to Pal’s expulsion from Parliament during the Congress regime in 2005. While Raja Ram Pal had taken on corruption related to Reliance, Dubey suggested that Moitra’s inquiries may be tied to Adani’s interests.
The Lok Sabha’s Ethics Committee is actively investigating this matter, with the initial hearing already completed. Both Nishikant Dubey and lawyer Jai Anand Dehadrai, who filed the complaint, provided statements before the committee’s chairman.
On the other hand, Mahua Moitra has written to the ethics panel, requesting that her appearance be scheduled after November 5, as she was summoned for October 31. This controversy is gaining momentum as the investigation proceeds.
