Mithun Chakraborty: Actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty asserted once more that he is “in direct touch” with 21 Trinamool Congress MLAs. Mithun Chakraborty said, “21 TMC MLAs are still in touch with me, I mentioned this earlier and I’ll say it again, I stand by my stance”, during a press conference at the BJP office in Kolkata. The actor-turned-politician continued by saying that he is aware that there are concerns about appointing Trinamool leaders within the party.
“I am aware that there are concerns inside the party; many have stated that we won’t accept bad potatoes. I’ve claimed I’m not that full and I won’t make the same mistake again,” he continued.
Prior to Durga Puja, Mithun Chakraborty visited the city on Saturday to meet with the BJP leaders. He was asked about the rise in the number of willing TMC MLAs at a meeting with the media. “I won’t tell you the precise number, but I can say the number is no less than 21,” Chakraborty remarked.
In addition, Mithun Chakraborty offered his thoughts on Mamata Banerjee’s recent remarks regarding the “misuse” of the CBI and ED. According to Mamata Banerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not responsible for the “misuse” of federal agencies.

Mithun Chakraborty responded, “Yes, I think she is right,” when questioned about the West Bengal chief minister’s remark. Since the court made the judgement, the PM is not really acting in this manner. How can we help? You, Mamata Banerjee, must clarify what the Bengal brigade of the BJP did wrong in relation to you. I’ve said it before: nothing will happen if you haven’t done anything wrong, if you’re tidy, if you can go home and sleep soundly. However, even the President or Prime Minister cannot help you if there is any proof.
