At a time when rumours of a split in the Sena-BJP alliance in the state are circulating, an advertisement released by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde’s party is at the core of a new issue.
In the political circles of Maharashtra, the newspaper ad with the catchphrase “Modi in Rashtra, Shinde in Maharashtra” has drawn considerable attention. In the past, the slogan “Delhi mein Narendra aur Rajya mein Devendra” was widely used by BJP cadres in the state.
According to a recent joint study by a private channel and an agency, Eknath Shinde is more well-liked than his deputy, Devendra Fadnavis, according to the advertising.
According to the poll, 26.1% of Maharashtrians want Eknath Shinde to be their next chief minister.
The advertisement further asserts that the survey indicates that the Shinde Sena has 16.2% of respondents’ support against the BJP’s 30.2%. The partnership as a whole is well-liked by over 46% of the respondents.
The advertisement claimed that a number of public benefit initiatives started by PM Modi and Eknath Shinde were to blame for the increase in popularity.
“This advertisement was made by spending crores of rupees. Eknath Shinde has forgotten Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. We have burst their bubble. Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray’s photo was taken out of the advertisement. So much fear of Modi Shah? The rest is the survey.. Fadnavis is your favorite topic,” the tweet said.
Sanjay Raut, Uddhav Thackeray’s MP, criticised the advertising for being “made by spending crores of rupees” and failing to name Balasaheb Thackeray, who had started the party.
Raut claimed in a tweet that the Shinde camp is so terrified of Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi that the chief minister has forgotten everything about Balasaheb Thackeray.
Clyde Crasto, a spokesman for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), stated that individuals who supported Eknath Shinde over Devendra Fadnavis as chief minister under the slogan “rashtra mein Narendra aur rajya mein Devendra” would be feeling very depressed right now.
Deepak Kesarkar, a spokesman for the Shinde camp, confirmed that there is no misunderstandings inside the alliance. “We have also spoken to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about today’s advertisement. The chief minister and his deputy are working together as part of the dynamic government,” Kesarkar said.
