Narayan Rane claims Uddhav faction MLAs ready to switch sides

Union minister Narayan Rane has claimed that four MLAs of the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray were in touch with him to join the ruling group led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Narayan Rane has claimed that there is no Shiv Sena left, the faction led by Uddhav Thackeray is almost wiped out. Rane’s claim comes amid a tussle between the two factions ahead of Mumbai’s Andheri East assembly by-polls. However, former Maharashtra CM Rane did not reveal the names of the said MLAs.

Narayan Rane said, “Shiv Sena is no longer in existence. There are hardly five to six MLAs left out of 56 MLAs. They are also ready to come on our side. Four MLAs are in touch with me. They can join anytime. “

Rane mocked Thackeray, saying his politics was confined to “Matoshree” (Thackeray’s personal residence in Mumbai). “There is no Shiv Sena faction left,” he said.

After the two factions of Shiv Sena bifurcated, the Election Commission had barred rival factions of Shiv Sena from using the party’s name and the ‘bow and arrow’ symbol.

Controversy over the real Shiv Sena continues. Uddhav Thackeray’s group will be called ‘Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’ and the election symbol for the upcoming elections will be a ‘burning torch’.

The Eknath Shinde-led faction has been given ‘Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena’ and ‘two swords and a shield’ as election symbols.

Rane made this statement as part of the central government’s ‘Rojgar Mela’ in Pune. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the employment fair in Delhi on the previous day for the aspirants of government jobs.
