The tussle in the party ended on Friday before the new Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu took over. Navjot Sidhu touches the feet of Captain Amarinder Singh. With this, the tension that had been going on in the party for the last two and a half months came to an end. Rahul Gandhi also looked stunned by this.
Sidhu reached Chandigarh Punjab Bhawan from Patiala on Friday morning. After a while, Captain Amarinder Singh also reached Punjab Bhawan. However, Sidhu left for Punjab Congress Bhawan without meeting Capt. Within a short time, he got a call from Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat, after which he again reached Punjab Bhawan. Here he met the Captain and touched his feet. After this, both drank tea with Rawat and the minister-MLAs. After the tea party, everyone left for the Punjab Congress Bhawan for Sidhu’s coronation. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed happiness by tweeting on the end of the crisis of Punjab Congress.
Ignoring all the bickering, on Thursday, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had agreed to attend Sidhu’s coronation ceremony. However, Sidhu has not yet apologized to the Captain as demanded by him. But it is believed that after the instructions of the party high command, the captain has agreed to be a part of this ceremony.
