NDA now have more than 100 seats in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: After the BJP’s victory on 9 seats in the Rajya Sabha, the number of members of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the House has increased to more than 100. On Monday, BJP has won 9 seats. At the same time, the Congress, which has maintained its dominance in the upper house of Parliament for a long time, has come down to its lowest figure. The number of members of Congress is now 38. This is the lowest member number of Congress in Rajya Sabha till date.

In the elections held on 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh and one seat in Uttarakhand, BJP got nine seats in the account. Its nine candidates, including Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri, have been elected unopposed from Uttar Pradesh. With these nine seats, BJP’s strength increased to 92 in the Upper House. It has gained a total of six members in Uttar Pradesh, because three of its people have been re-elected.

In Bihar, BJP’s ally JD (U) has five members in the Rajya Sabha. Along with this, there are one member each in the house of RPI-Athawale, Assam Gana Parishad, Mizo National Front, National People’s Party, Naga People’s Front, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Bodoland People’s Front. In this way, the total number of NDA members in the Rajya Sabha has now increased to 104. At present, the total number of members in the house is 242.
