Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given a strange statement on International Yoga Day. He has said that Yoga originated from Nepal and from here it spread in the world. Oli said that yoga has started in Nepal not in India. At the time when Yoga was started, nothing was happening in India. It was in pieces at that time.

Oli said that the claims made by Indian experts regarding the origin of yoga, in fact, they hide facts. India, which was divided into pieces, was like a continent or sub-continent at that time. Oli said this in the program organized on International Yoga Day at the Prime Minister’s residence. On the suggestion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014.

Oli has been giving statements beyond the historical facts even before this. In July 2020, he had talked about the birth of Lord Ram in Nepal and not in Ayodhya. Said that Shri Ram was Nepali. Oli told the real Ayodhya at Thori in Birganj district of his country, where Shri Ram was born. Then he had alleged that India was committing cultural encroachment by creating a fake Ayodhya.
