Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has visited many states with the aim of overthrowing the Narendra Modi government of the country. He also met Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi. Even after doing this, the proposed meeting of the opposition unity on June 12 had to be postponed. This was told by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself on Monday- “All party presidents have to come. It will not be good if someone else comes.”
What did Congress do on Nitish’s determination?
It is not that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did not win the confidence of the Congress. Lalu Prasad is an old-trusted ally of the Congress, but for the latest campaign of opposition unity, Nitish Kumar, after meeting even Rahul Gandhi, had fixed June 12 as the date and place of Patna. Don’t know the date, but there was definitely some upheaval in the Congress regarding the place. Along with this, many parties felt that the meeting in Patna means that Nitish Kumar wants to lead the opposition unity. A JDU leader had also clearly said that on June 12, Nitish Kumar’s name would be finalized as the leader. It is probably not acceptable to the Congress for the national party to enter the Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of a leader of a regional party, the result of which has now come to the fore.
Talking to reporters after paying tribute to Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan on Sampoorna Kranti Divas, the Chief Minister informed about the cancellation of the meeting of opposition parties, the reality of the campaign of opposition unity came to the fore.
Nitish said- “The support of most of the people had come for the meeting of opposition unity to be held on 12th June. We have told the Congress party that you too should talk about the next date for the meeting. All party presidents have to come. If someone else comes in this, it will not be good. Later its date will be fixed and you will be informed about it.”
