West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress leader Shrikant Mahata opened a front against his own party. One of his statements is going viral in which he accused many leaders including TMC MP Nusrat Jahan, Mimi Chakraborty of looting money. In his statement, he named June Malia, Sayoni Ghosh and Sayantika Banerjee apart from Nusrat and Mimi. Now a show cause notice has been issued to Shrikant by the party.
In the viral statement, TMC leader and state minister Shrikant Mahata says, ‘We are trying to save our citizenship. Intellectual society, farmers are fighting to save our citizenship. If we need to, we will also go to Mamata Banerjee.’
‘These people have become necessary for the party by looting money’
Shrikant Mahata further says, ‘Abhishek Banerjee and Subrata Bakshi consider bad people as their good companions. They should only do bad things to bad people. From Mahadev to Sandhya Roy, June Malia, Sayani Sayantika, Mimi, Nusrat. If they have become very important to the party, then we cannot be a part of this party.’
The Bengal minister further said, ‘If these people have become necessary for the party by looting money, then we also do not want to be ministers.’
Today people have started calling all the ministers as thieves. But the party will listen only to those thieves. We have to find a new way. We have to agitate against this evil.
A show cause notice has been issued on the viral statement of Shrikant Mahata, MLA from Salboni in Paschim Medinipur district. Trinamool Congress (TMC) Paschim Medinipur coordinator Ajit Maiti on Sunday said Mahata has been issued a show-cause notice for his statement which “damaged the image of the party”. In 2014, Mahata expressed regret over that statement and said that it was ‘in the spirit’. It happened because of the flow.
