Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, hosted a large opposition gathering on Friday in Patna to plan a strategy for uniting against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Yesterday, representatives from up to 17 opposition groups gathered, but no agreement was achieved. In order to forward their objectives, the opposition leaders decided to get together once more for a two-day meeting in Shimla. “This was actually a photo session. The first photo session was conducted by (Telangana CM) KCR in Bihar with Nitish Kumar a few months ago. Tukde Tuke gangs dreams of becoming prime minister,” Giriraj Singh said.

Opposition Leaders Share Meal and Discuss Strategy in Patna Gathering
The leaders of the opposition met for a good four hours during which time they shared a meal. They ate “Malda mangoes” and litti chokha. Rahul Gandhi of the Congress said, “Nitish (Kumar) ji has treated us to all the dishes of Bihar at lunch, from litti chokha to special gulab jamuns.” The party leaders declared during a joint press conference that they would put aside their differences and adopt a flexible strategy to contest the election while pursuing a shared goal. The next conference, probably scheduled for July 10 or 12, in Shimla, would be presided over by Mallikarjun Kharge, the head of the Congress. The BJP branded the Patna gathering as a “photo opportunity” and a “drama” similar to wolves hunting in packs.
