The discussion on the Constitution Amendment Bill related to OBC has started in the Lok Sabha. The opposition is also taking part in this discussion. Congress MP Sonia Gandhi is also present in the house. Congress has supported this bill in Lok Sabha.
An important bill is being discussed in Parliament today amid the deadlock between the government and the opposition. This is the first time during the entire session that the government and the opposition are discussing a bill with consensus.
Initiating the discussion on the Constitution (127th) Amendment Bill, Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar said that this amendment will empower the states to take a decision on the OBC list. Congress also supported this bill, as well as demanded that arrangements should be made to get the legal right to give more than 50 percent OBC reservation.
While the bill related to OBC is being discussed in the Lok Sabha, on the other hand, in a question from the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been told that at present, there is no proposal to share caste based data.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also spoke on Maratha reservation in Lok Sabha and told that the demand of this society is very long. Congress has also demanded from the government to keep in mind the demands of the Maratha people.
