Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with his special sisters at his residence in the national capital on Thursday. Little girls tied Rakhi on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan which was special for PM Modi. It was a special Raksha Bandhan for PM Modi as these girls were the daughters of employees like scavengers, peons, gardeners, drivers working in the Prime Minister’s Office.
PMO shared a video on this occasion in which PM Modi is seen celebrating the festival with these little girls. They come one by one to Prime Minister Modi to tie Rakhi and the PM is seen talking to them happily. Earlier today, PM Modi congratulated the people of the country on this occasion. PM Modi tweeted, “Greetings to everyone on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”
Interestingly, ahead of the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pakistani sister Qamar Mohsin Sheikh had sent a holy rakhi and also wished him a victory in the 2024 general election. Speaking to ANI, Qamar said that she has made all the preparations and is expected to meet PM Modi this time.
“I hope he (PM Modi) will call me to Delhi this time. I have done all the preparations. I have made this rakhi myself using silk ribbon with embroidery designs,” she said. She wrote a letter to PM Modi and prayed for his good health and long life. Along with this, she also wished him good luck for the 2024 elections.
She said, “I wrote a letter and prayed for a long and healthy life. Keep up the good work like you are doing.” PM Modi’s sister Sheikh had also sent him a Rakhi and Raksha Bandhan card last year.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his best wishes on the occasion. Shah tweeted, “Heartfelt greetings to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan.”
