Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday wished former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his birthday and wished him good health. Manmohan Singh, a Rajya Sabha member, turned 90 on Monday.
The Prime Minister tweeted, “Happy birthday to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. I wish him good health and long life.”
Singh was sworn in as the 13th Prime Minister of India in the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004. Noted economist Singh became Prime Minister for the second time in 2009. He is also known for his radical economic reforms in the country in the 1990s.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Happy Birthday to Dr Manmohan Singh, one of India’s finest politicians. Examples of his humility, dedication and contribution to India’s development are rare.” He said, “He is an inspiration to me and crores of Indian citizens. I pray for his good health and well being.”
