Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping came face to face on Tuesday. Both shook hands with each other. This face-to-face took place at an event of the G20 summit. This meeting of the two leaders caught everyone’s attention amidst tense relations between the two countries over the ongoing border standoff in eastern Ladakh.
Indeed, Indonesian President Joko Widodo hosted a welcome dinner for the G20 delegates. The event was broadcast live to the media, in which the two leaders were seen shaking hands. Speculations were rife about a bilateral meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, but there is no information on the agenda for such a meeting.
There was no face-off in SCO
Prime Minister Modi and President Xi came face-to-face at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) annual summit in Samarkand in September for the first time since the start of the border standoff in eastern Ladakh. However, there were no reports of the two leaders shaking hands or greeting at that time. This time both of them greeted each other. This is the first time the two leaders have come face to face after the Galwan conflict.

Earlier, PM Modi addressed the people of the Indian community. He said that there is a big difference between India before 2014 and after 2014. The country is now progressing at an unprecedented scale and speed. He said that India is a ray of hope for the world in the 21st century.
He also highlighted India’s growth story, its achievements and the tremendous progress being made by India in various sectors such as digital technology, finance, health, telecom and space. He said that today India is moving forward at an unprecedented scale and pace. India is now building the biggest statues, the biggest stadiums.
