PM Modi:The winter session of the Parliament began on 7th December 2022 and the session will have a total of 17 working days. During a discussion in the Rajya Sabha, Keralan CPI (M) MP Elamaram Kareem asked details regarding the expenses related to Prime Minister’s foreign visits in the last five years.

In response to his question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that the goal of the Prime Minister’s tours overseas has been to promote India’s engagements at the regional and global levels and create deeper relations with foreign countries. These trips play a significant role in how India implements its foreign and domestic policies.

He added that these visits enhanced foreign partners’ understanding of India’s viewpoints on regional and international issues.

Agreements made during visits allows India to express its viewpoint on Global Issues
Mualeedhran further emphasised that agreements made during these visits allowed India to improve ties with its allies, present its perspective, and influence global policy on issues like reformed multilateralism, climate change, transnational crime, terrorism, and cyber security.
He further stated that these visits enhanced understanding of India’s perspectives on regional and global issues among foreign partners at the highest level.
Mualeedhran also stressed that understandings reached during these visits have enabled India to strengthen relations with partner countries and put forward India’s viewpoint and shape the global agenda on global issues such as reformed multilateralism, climate change, transnational crime, terrorism and cyber security.
He also disclosed that PM Modi’s visit to Indonesia for the G20 Summit cost Rs 32,09,760, while his visit to Japan cost Rs 23,86,536, respectively. A visit by PM Modi to Europe earlier this year cost Rs 2,15,61,304, and his visit to the US between September 21 and September 28, 2019, cost Rs 23,27,09,000.
