Former CM Kumaraswamy Claims Congress Exploiting IAS Officers for Alliance Leaders
H D Kumaraswamy, the leader of the JD(S), charged on Tuesday that the Congress government in Karnataka had implemented a “IAS bonded labour policy” by assigning 30 IAS officers to “serve” its alliance leaders who were congregating in the city to plan for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. According to the former chief minister, IAS personnel are representations of the state’s competence and effectiveness, and using them as “door keepers” for politicians is a blatant breach of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules. Opposition Dinner Meeting Showcases Prominent Figures in Attendance
Those present at the dinner meeting on Monday were Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and the chief ministers of M K Stalin, Nitish Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal, and Hemant Soren. The opposition leaders’ rallying cry is “United we stand,” and they claim that the gathering would “change the game” for the political landscape in India. The NDA meeting, which was held on July 18 in Delhi and coincides with the opposition meeting, is where some new allies are likely to join the government’s BJP-led alliance.

“BJP thinks they are a big threat…Congress party is ready to fight all these forces,” said Karnataka Deputy CM Shivakumar. Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP, arrived at the airport in Bengaluru to join the opposition gathering. Laxmi Hebbalkar and Minister MB Patil welcomed him. While opposition leaders are gathering in Bengaluru for a second day to develop a strategy to challenge the BJP in the general elections, the BJP’s Karnataka unit has retaliated against them.
“A meeting of “Opportunists” who do not want the welfare of the country, who are always in pursuit of personal interests, who are struggling to maintain their existence, is taking place in Bangalore today. Their main agenda is to hate the world’s favorite leader @narendra modi,” the BJP tweeted.
