According to party sources, the high command has made preparations to crown Navjot Singh Sidhu as state party chief, bypassing the advice of Captain Amarinder Singh. However, the candidate for the post of CM will be the captain.

For all this, Congress General Secretary and Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday. After this meeting, he said that good news can come for Punjab Congress in the next 3-4 days.
The meeting at Gandhi’s residence came in the backdrop of efforts for a peace settlement between Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his chief critic Navjot Singh Sidhu. It is being told that Priyanka Gandhi gave so much importance to the meeting regarding Sidhu that she canceled an important meeting regarding Uttar Pradesh.

However, today Sidhu has indicated to join the Aam Aadmi Party through one of his tweets.
