In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19 in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not visit Portugal and France in early May. PM Modi was about to travel to Portugal for the 16th India-EU Summit (India-EU Summit) to be held on 8 May, after which he was going to visit France.
Prime Minister Modi will also be involved in the meeting with European Union. PM Modi was to attend the India-EU Summit on 8 May in Portugal. However, diplomatic sources told Portugal media that we are considering making this summit virtual with the European Union and the Government of India.
To attend G7 summit in June
If the situation improves, then Prime Minister Modi can visit Britain in June. Here he will take part in the G7 Summit. Britain was sent an invitation to Modi for the summit to be held in Cornwall. The G7 includes Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the European Union.
Number of active patients in India crosses 19 lakhs –
According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry of India on Monday, the total number of Covid-19 cases in India has crossed the figure of 1.50 crore and 25 lakh new cases have been reported in just 15 days. At the same time, the number of active cases has exceeded 19 lakhs. The total number of infected people has increased to 1,50,61,919 with 273810 new cases of Covid-19 being reported in one day on Monday across the country. The number of deaths has increased to 1,78,769 due to the death of 1619 records and patients in a single day.
Prime Minister Modi will participate in the India-EU Summit through video conference. The Portuguese media quoted diplomatic sources as saying, “We are working with European institutions and the Government of India to organize the summit via video conference, in which all the heads of the EU will be physically present”
