On the breach in the security of the Prime Minister during the Punjab tour, the Chief Minister of the state Charanjit Singh Channi said in a press conference that I am sorry that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to return today during his visit to Ferozepur district. We respect our Prime Minister. I had to go to Bathinda today to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the people who had to accompany me were found to be corona positive, so I did not go to receive the Prime Minister today because I was in contact with some people who were found corona positive.
“We had asked them (PMO) to stop the yatra due to bad weather conditions and protests. We had no information about the sudden diversion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy. There has been no security lapse during the visit of the Prime Minister. If there is any security lapse during PM Modi’s visit today, then we will get the inquiry done. There was no threat to the Prime Minister. ”
CM Channi said, ‘Farmers have been agitating peacefully for the last one year. I am not going to do lathi-charge on farmers. We talked to the farmers all night, after which they called off their agitation. Today suddenly some agitators gathered in Ferozepur district. There was no attack on the Prime Minister, there was no such thinking. Even earlier there was a farmer movement in Delhi, they had some demand which was fulfilled after 1 year. Even today, if someone comes on the way to protest peacefully, then it should not be associated with the security of the Prime Minister, politics should not happen.
Here, the BJP termed the incident of lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “conspiracy” and claimed that the “bloody intentions” of the Congress had failed.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, while addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, questioned the Congress government in Punjab led by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi whether the state police deliberately gave false assurances to the Prime Minister’s security squad, how the protesters reached his convoy. And when the security personnel tried to contact the Chief Minister’s Office, why was there no communication? BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, who was present in the press conference with Irani, said that today such an incident has happened which is unprecedented in the history of India.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi was on a visit to Punjab on Tuesday, where he was to lay the foundation stone of several development schemes at a program in Ferozepur and then address a rally.
There was a ‘serious security lapse’ while going by road when some protesters blocked the road ahead of him. Due to this, the Prime Minister was stuck on a flyover for 20 minutes and later his convoy had to return. Reacting strongly to this incident, the Union Home Ministry has sought a report from the Punjab Government for this lapse and has asked for strict action against those responsible for it.
