Punjab News: CM Mann Leads Party to Resounding Victory, AAP Sweeps Jalandhar By-Election

In the Punjab Jalandhar West assembly by-election, Mohinder Bhagat of the AAP defeated Sheetal Angural of the BJP by a margin of more than 35,000 votes.

Punjab News: By-polling was done on this seat of Punjab, Jalandhar West. According to the information recorded on the Election Commission site, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Mohinder Bhagat has convincingly won this election. In that electoral field under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, AAP’s candidate defeated BJP candidate Sheetal Angural by more than 35000 votes.

One-Sided Victory for AAP in Jalandhar West

In the by-poll held at Jalandhar West assembly seat of Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Mohinder Bhagat defeated one-sidedly his rival Sheetal Angural. According to the information recorded on the website of the Election Commission, AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat gets a record 55246 votes. While BJP candidate Sheetal Angural got 17921, Congress candidate Surinder Kaur 16757 votes.

In such a situation, AAP won the Jalandhar West assembly seat by 37325 votes. Under the efficient leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Aam Aadmi Party is continuously expanding its foothold in the state. Talking about the by-poll of Jalandhar West assembly, CM Mann had given all-out efforts to win this seat.

Connecting with Jalandhar Residents

It was during the by-election campaign that CM Mann took a rented house in Jalandhar and remained in the electoral battle, uninterruptedly campaigning for the AAP candidate. Besides this, after connectivity with the people of Jalandhar, he announced that now the government will run from Jalandhar two days a week. In such a situation, the victory in the by-election held on the seat of Jalandhar West is wholly being credited to CM Bhagwant Mann.

In the Assembly elections conducted in Punjab in 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party gained an absolute majority. AAP candidates formed the government after winning 92 out of the total 117 seats in the state. But after this, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sheetal Angural resigned from the Jalandhar West seat; hence, the seat was vacant.
