Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a roadshow in Wayanad for the first time after being disqualified from the Lok Sabha. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also reached Wayanad along with Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi also addressed a rally in Wayanad. Rahul Gandhi reached the Lok Sabha after winning the election in 2019.
In 2023, he was sentenced to two jail terms by the Surat court in the Modi surname case. After this he was disqualified from the Parliament.
Addressing the rally, said that during this Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that MP is just a tag. This is a post so BJP can remove the tag, they can take the post, they can take the house and they can even put me in jail, but they can’t stop me from representing the people of Wayanad.
They think they will scare me by sending police to my house, but I was really happy that they took me home. Even then I will continue to raise the issues of the country and the people of Wayanad.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that I asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament to tell about his relation with Adani. I asked what is your relation with Adani? But Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not answer him.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said that my brother was disqualified because of a court decision. Asking questions, demanding accountability, raising country and local issues is the job of an MP. I find it strange that the entire government, even PM Modi, finds it unfair.
