Rahul Gandhi– Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, addressed a public rally in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, on Sunday, where he made key promises to the people of the state. Gandhi vowed that if the Congress comes to power, the price of LPG gas cylinders, currently being sold at Rs 1200, will be reduced to Rs 500 per cylinder. This promise comes as a relief for households burdened by rising fuel costs.
Focus on Farmers’ Welfare
In addition to the LPG price reduction, Rahul Gandhi also pledged to implement Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Haryana’s farmers. He emphasized the Congress party’s commitment to ensuring better returns for farmers, which would help address the long-standing issue of inadequate pricing for crops. “We will provide MSP to Haryana farmers so they get the fair price they deserve,” Gandhi stated.
Targeting Rising Inflation
Addressing the issue of rising inflation, Gandhi criticized the current government for its handling of essential commodities. “People are struggling to afford basic needs like cooking gas. Our plan is to relieve the common man from the economic burden by reducing the gas cylinder prices and providing farmers with the support they need,” he added.
Congress’s Election Strategy
These promises are part of the Congress party’s broader strategy to connect with the rural electorate and middle-class families, especially in regions like Haryana where agriculture is a key source of livelihood. Rahul Gandhi’s remarks come as part of the party’s larger election campaign, focusing on addressing economic hardships and improving the standard of living for the average citizen.
A Promise for Change
The Congress leader concluded by assuring the crowd that his party is determined to bring positive change if elected. He called on the people of Haryana to support the Congress party and give them a chance to implement these promises. “We have done it before, and we will do it again,” Gandhi asserted.
With these pledges, the Congress aims to gain momentum in Haryana as the election campaign continues to intensify.
