Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the media at the Congress headquarters on Saturday. He said, BJP-RSS are like gurus for me. Thanks to BJP-Sangh for attacking me. Because the more they attack, the more we get a chance to improve. I want them to attack more vigorously so that the Congress party and its ideology can be understood better. Rahul said, I consider him my guru that he is showing me the way what to do and what not and is giving good training.
Rahul Gandhi said, I know that all the leaders of the opposition are standing with us. The doors of Bharat Jodo Yatra are open to everyone who wants to connect India. There is uniformity in ideology. There is no uniformity in hatred, violence and love. Akhilesh ji and Mayawati ji, who want an India of love, not of hatred. So there is a relationship with him. He said, this journey is trying to tell us something and if we don’t listen to it, it would be an insult to that voice.
‘The government is unnecessarily making an issue of my security’
Rahul said, I am doing Bharat Jodo Yatra. Now the government wants me to go from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in a bulletproof vehicle. This is not acceptable to me. When their senior leader comes out of the bulletproof car, no letter arrives. They break their own protocol. So is the protocol different for them – different for me. How do I travel in a bulletproof vehicle? They are probably making a case that Rahul keeps breaking his security.
When a reporter asked Rahul why he was wearing a T-shirt even in this cold. So Rahul jokingly said – You are wearing a sweater, it does not mean that it is cold, it means that you are afraid of cold. I am not afraid of cold. The real reason I’m wearing a T-shirt is because I’m not feeling cold yet. When I will feel it, I will will start wearing sweaters.
I belong to martyr’s family, I know the pain
Rahul Gandhi said, I belong to a martyr’s family and I know what goes through when a young man gives his life. But there is no one in the top leadership of BJP who understands this. We do not want any soldier from our army to be martyred. “We do not want the government to take this thing casually and the army is used for political gains and our jawans and their families are at a loss,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi said, China took our 2000 km area and the Prime Minister is saying that no one came. If I barge into your house and you say no one barges in, what message will that send? The government is confused on this. When we talk about the government, they hide behind the army. There is a difference between the government and the army.
They said,
Our government has handled the China issue in a completely ineffective manner. The aim of Congress’s foreign policy was not to allow China and Pakistan to unite, which we did well till UPA-2. Today Pakistan and China have become one. This is not a trivial matter. Rahul further said, China took the first step in Doklam and the second step in Ladakh. I think they are preparing. Now the question is not of ‘if’ but of ‘when’. The government will have to listen to our air, land and navy and stop using the army politically.
