Soundarya, the granddaughter of former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP veteran BS Yediyurappa, allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Friday. She was 30 years old. At present, the postmortem of the dead body is going on at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital. The office of BS Yediyurappa has given this information. Soundarya was a doctor at MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bangalore. According to police, she was living with her husband and six-month-old baby in an apartment near Mount Carmel College in the city.
Soundarya got married only two years ago. She was found dead on Friday morning and the body has been sent to Boring Hospital for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death. High Ground Police Station of Bangalore has started investigation into the matter. Soundarya was Yeddyurappa’s first daughter Padma’s daughter. The news of her death has shocked her family and the state. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with his cabinet colleagues has reached the hospital to console BJP veteran Yeddyurappa. According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide.
Dr Soundarya VY allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a fan in her Vasant Nagar flat on Friday morning, police said. According to the police, it is not yet clear why Dr Soundarya took this step. Soundarya married Dr Neeraj S in 2018. Both the people worked in the same hospital. According to news agency PTI, Neeraj left for the hospital at eight o’clock on Friday morning. It is feared that Soundarya committed suicide by hanging herself two hours after Neeraj left for work.

This matter came to light when the maid came to the house repeatedly and knocked on the door, but to no avail. He informed Dr. Neeraj. After this Neeraj also called Soundarya. But there was no response from there. Police said that after this the door of the apartment was forcibly opened. Later the body was taken to Boring Hospital where post-mortem is being done. BJP sources said that on getting information about the incident, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, some ministers and senior BJP officials reached Yeddyurappa’s house to console the bereaved family members.
