The Tamil Nadu government on Monday announced more restrictions as part of its Covid-19 ban strategy. In which there is a ban on running shops other than selling essential things like vegetables and provisions.
An official release said that from 6 to 20 May, vegetable and provision shops located in commercial complexes would have to be closed, while standalone shops could only be open till noon with 50 per cent of customers.
Apart from the above provisions and vegetable shops, all other shops are barred from being open. There is no restriction on shops selling milk and drugs, pointing to a sharp increase in cases of coronovirus.
On the other hand, all government and private offices can run with an attendance of 50 percent, while the seating capacity in metro rail, private buses and taxis should be limited to 50 percent.
While the restaurant can only sell goods, tea shops can only be open till noon and customers cannot sit and dine at such places. During this period, all types of social, political, sports, educational, entertainment are being banned, while theaters will remain closed.
No more than 20 people can gather in death-related incidents. In addition, spas in rural areas will also remain closed. Those allowed to curfew from 10 am to 4 am include travel to airports / railway stations, milk delivery and health services, while fuel outlets will be allowed to remain open.
Industry and industry manufacturing essentials, apart from this, telecom companies can continue to operate even during the night curfew.
