Indian tennis legend Leander Paes has joined the Trinamool Congress. Leander joined TMC in Goa today in the presence of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. Announcing this on Twitter on behalf of the Trinamool Congress, it has been said, ‘Together we will ensure that every person of the country sees the day of democracy which we have been waiting for since 2014.’ Leander has also won a bronze medal for the country in the tennis singles event of the Olympic Games.

Earlier, actors Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu also joined Trinamool in the presence of Mamta Banaji.
Leander Paes is an Indian tennis player who currently competes in doubles and mixed doubles events. He is one of the most successful players of India. He has won many championships. He was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1996-1997, India’s highest award in the world of sports, as well as the Padma Shri award in 2009. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2014. Leander Paes was born on 17 June 1973 in Kolkata.
