Tributes were paid to Mulayam Singh Yadav in Bharat Jodo Yatra. Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi kept silence. Congress has tweeted the video. It can be seen in the video that all Congress leaders including Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal observed silence and paid tribute to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Along with Rahul Gandhi, many Congress leaders are passing through the cities of Karnataka under the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The journey which started from Tamil Nadu has reached Karnataka via Kerala. This journey of about 3500 km is from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. There is a plan to cover 12 states during this period. In this episode, dozens of Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi stopped at one place in Karnataka to pay tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Significantly, Mulayam Singh Yadav died at the age of 82 on Monday at Medanta Hospital. Mulayam Singh Yadav’s last rites were performed in Saifai, Uttar Pradesh. Mulayam Singh Yadav was embroiled in controversies in the 1990s during the movement for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. As Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav ordered the Uttar Pradesh Police to fire to stop Vishwa Hindu Parishad, BJP and RSS workers moving towards the disputed structure of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
