Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will on Thursday chair a meeting on Covid-19 vaccination drive via video conferencing, news agency ANI reported.
Lockdown in Maharashtra can extend up to 15 more days. Restrictions like lockdown can be enforced from May 1 to May 15 in the state. Even after applying the mini lockdown, the transition in the state has not stopped.
In such a situation, the government can take a more strict stand now. The upcoming lockdown may be decided in the cabinet meeting to be chaired by CM Uddhav Thackeray.
Vijay Vadettivar, a minister in the state government, has advised the government that a further 15-day lockdown should be imposed.
According to the minister, the corona infection has not stopped in the state, so the lockdown deadline needs to be extended. He said that the arrival of cases has been done in Mumbai but new cases are still being found faster than the rest of the state.
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Wednesday that the lockdown could increase for 15 days in the state.
He said, “The lockdown has been discussed. The lockdown will increase, it is fixed. How many days it will increase. It will be 15 days or less. It will be decided on the last day.I think it can grow for 15 days. “
Rajesh Tope also told that from May 1, the third phase of vaccination will not start. He told that due to lack of vaccine, vaccination program will not start from May 1 for above 18 years. He says that there are one and a half lakh doses. Supply is not being done at all. He told that Bharat Biotech is going to give 20 lakh doses in the next two months. While Serum has promised to give 1 crore doses of Covishield every month.
CM said – Everyone will get the vaccine free, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that all the people of the state will be vaccinated for free.
CM said, “Everyone will be given the vaccine for free, but take care not to rush the vaccination center. We have vaccinated 15 million people. This is a record. How soon the vaccine supply should be announced. Will be done.”
