Amit Shah stated that Hindi honours many Indian as well as international languages and dialects and unites the multiplicity of languages in India on the occasion of “Hindi Diwas” on Thursday.
Udhayanidhi Stalin challenges Amit Shah’s views on Hindi’s role in empowering regional languages
The Home Minister added that Hindi has never competed with any other Indian language and never will, adding that the best way for a nation to become strong is to strengthen all of its languages. Criticising Amit Shah’s remark, Udhayanidhi Stalin said in a post in Tamil on X: “‘Hindi unites the people of the country – empowers the regional languages’, said Union Minister Amit Shah, as usual, showering his love for the Hindi language. This idea is an alternative form of shouting that if you study Hindi, you can progress. Tamil in Tamil Nadu – Malayalam in Kerala. Where does Hindi unite these two states? Where does empowerment come in?”
