Amit Shah: On Saturday, September 2, ahead of the state’s impending elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah promised to free Chhattisgarh from the “corrupt Bhupesh Baghel government” while speaking at a rally in Saraipali, Chhattisgarh. Amit Shah charged that Prime Minister PM Modi‘s efforts to assist the tribal populations were being obstructed by the Chhattisgarh government, which is governed by the Congress.

Amit Shah’s Rally Highlights Chhattisgarh’s Political Landscape and Raman Singh’s Legacy

“I am here to tell you that we will save Chhattisgarh from the corrupt Bhupesh Baghel government,” Shah said. “The Congress’ corrupt government (in Chhattisgarh) does not allow PM Modi to work for tribals.” In his speech, Shah pushed for the reinstatement of Dr. Raman Singh’s BJP-led state administration. He emphasised Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contribution to the creation of Chhattisgarh and gave Raman Singh’s leadership credit for the state’s growth over the previous 15 years. Raman Singh’s administration saw an increase in tribal reservations from 20% to 32%, according to Shah. “Former Prime Minister Ataj ji created this Chhattisgarh state, and Raman Singh has been in charge of developing and managing it for the past 15 years.” Shah recalled the Raman Singh government, saying, “Previously, tribal communities received 20% of reservations; Raman Singh increased it to 32%.”

Amit Shah Challenges Rahul Gandhi’s Vision for Chhattisgarh Adivasis

Rahul Gandhi, a Congressman who was also in the state, was not exempt from Shah’s criticism; he was pressed to describe his goals for the Adivasis of Chhattisgarh. He promised to defend the state from a “corrupt government.” “Rahul baba has arrived in the state today; he will undoubtedly say something; I want to ask him, Rahul baba, what have you, and what are you offering to the state’s Adivasis?” Shah asked.  “I am here to tell you that we created Chhattisgarh, developed and nurtured it, and we will save you from the clutches of this corrupt government,” he said. Shah urged voters to reject the Bhupesh Baghel-led administration, citing claims of a “Rice scam,” and accused it of trying to convert Chhattisgarh into the “ATM of Congress.” He committed to giving the state’s development top priority. “Uproot the government that steals rice of the Tribal…No one should vote for this government (Bhupesh Baghel-government) that do Rice scam. Bhupesh Baghel wants to make Chhattisgarh ATM of Congress, but we will not let this happen. We will do development in the state,” he added.
