Maharashtra Police on Tuesday arrested Union Minister Narayan Rane in connection with the slapping statement. Rane is accused of making objectionable statements against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Narayan Rane was first detained from Chiplun, then arrested after completing the paperwork.
Actually, Rane had recently given a statement regarding Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. In this statement, along with criticizing Thackeray, he had spoken of slapping him. After this statement, an FIR was registered against him. After which the Nashik police had left for Ratnagiri for his arrest.

According to the information, another case has also been registered against Union Minister Narayan Rane in Naupada, Thane. According to Thane police, a case has been registered under sections 500, 505 (2), 153-B(1) (c).
BJP National President JP Nadda expressed his displeasure by tweeting on the arrest of Union Minister Narayan Rane. Nadda wrote in his tweet that the arrest of Union Minister Narayan Rane ji by the Maharashtra government is a violation of constitutional values. We will neither be scared nor suppressed by such action. These people are troubled by the immense support the BJP is getting in the Jan-Aashirvad Yatra. We will continue to fight democratically, the journey will continue.
On the other hand, protests were held in Mumbai against Rane’s statement. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said during this that the Minister of Parliament, who has himself been the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has insulted the constitutional post of his own Chief Minister (Maharashtra CM), we are protesting against it.
At the same time, immediately after getting information about the arrest, Union Minister Rane had filed an anticipatory bail application in Ratnagiri Court, which was rejected by the court. Four FIRs are registered against Narayan Rane.
Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut has demanded the resignation of BJP leader Narayan Rane. Talking to the media, Raut said whether there is still any shame left in Rane, if so, he should resign. Raut said Rane should show some respect for the Constitution. What he said was that Rane’s statement was condemnable.
The petition, filed before a bench of Justices SS Shinde and NJ Jamadar, sought urgent hearing on Tuesday itself. However, the bench refused to hear it and said that mention (of the petition) is not permissible. The bench said that the lawyer has to follow the procedure. The court said, “File an application for urgent hearing before the Registry Department and then we will consider.” The petition has challenged the FIRs registered against Rane in Mahad in Pune, Nashik and Raigad.

Rane was asked by journalists in Mahad on Monday that in his speech given on the day of Independence Day, the CM appeared in doubt about the Amrit Mahotsav or the Diamond Festival. On this, he said that Thackeray does not know how many years have passed since the country got independence. Hey Diamond Festival What? If I were, I would put it under the ear. You must not know about Independence Day? How annoying is this. I don’t understand who is running the government.
