After Uttar Pradesh, now a survey of madrasas is being done in Madhya Pradesh. State Culture Minister Usha Thakur told Media that action would be taken against madrassas running without the permission of the madrassa board and education department. Minister said that such illegal madrassas, which have not got approval from the madrasa board or the education department, will be closed immediately. Madrasas running illegally will be sealed. She further says that madrasas will no longer be allowed to run in Madhya Pradesh without permission. According to the information received, investigation of madrasas in MP has been started. Earlier there was a demand for investigation of madrasas.
Recently, former minister and senior BJP leader Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya had said that there should be a survey of madrassas in the state. It is necessary to keep a close watch on madrasas.
At the same time, BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma said that if anti-national activities take place in madrasas, action will be taken against them. Illegal madrasas should be demolished.
Earlier, a survey of madrassas was started in UP. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind on said that the state government’s move to conduct a survey of madrassas in Uttar Pradesh is a malicious attempt to downplay the education system. The Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind announced a ‘helpline number’ after a meeting of madrasa teachers to assess the impact of the state government’s decision, so that madrassas can contact it if they face any problem.
The Uttar Pradesh government decided to conduct a survey of unrecognized madrassas in the state to check the status of basic facilities. State’s Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Danish Azad Ansari said that the state government has decided to conduct a survey of all unrecognized madrassas in the state as per the requirement of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in connection with the availability of basic facilities to the students in madrassas. The Minister of State for Minority Welfare said that it will be started soon. Minister of State Ansari said that the survey includes the name of the madrasa, the name of the institution operating it, whether the madrasa is running in a private or rented building, the number of students studying in the madrasa, drinking water, furniture, electricity supply. And the arrangement of toilets, the number of teachers, the curriculum implemented in the madrasa, the number of the madrasaInformation related to the source of income and the affiliation of the madrasa with any non-government organization will be collected.
