In West Bengal, the process of BJP leaders leaving the party continues. Bengali actress Srabanti Chatterjee has resigned from the BJP. Srabanti Chatterjee had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in March this year during the assembly elections. After this the party gave her a ticket from Behala assembly seat. However, she failed to register a victory. After being in the BJP for about eight months, she has announced her separation from the party.
Srabanti Chatterjee has announced to quit BJP on Twitter. She tweeted and wrote – I have severed my ties with BJP. I had contested the last assembly elections of the state from BJP but now I have parted ways with this party. BJP lacks passion and sincerity to take Bengal forward. In such a situation, I have left the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Srabanti Chatterjee has been working in Bengali films for more than two decades and has a good identity of her own. She has made many superhit films. She has also worked in Hindi serials Love Story and Ladies Special. She has also won many awards for her performance. Along with films, Srabanti is also in constant discussion about her personal life. She has done three marriages and the marriage of all three could not work. In such a situation, she is often discussed in the media regarding her relationship with her husband.
In March this year, she had switched from acting to politics and joined the party in the presence of senior BJP leaders. After this, the legislative election was also fought vigorously. However, after the defeat, she was not active in politics and now she has also announced to leave the BJP.
