Importance of Pradosh Vrat
According to Hindu religion, Pradosh Vrat is considered very important. By observing this fast, you will get the blessings of Lord Shiva as well as Shani Dev. According to the Puranas, Lord Shiva dances on Kailash on the day of Pradosh fast. For this reason, devotees keep Lord Shiva happy by fasting on this day.

Evening time is considered auspicious for worshipping. On this day Pradosh Vrat Mantra is chanted in all Shiva temples in the evening. On the day of Shani Pradosh Vrat, wake up before sunrise in the morning and take bath and wear clean clothes. Purify the place of worship with Ganga water. Worship Lord Shiva with Belpatra, Akshat, Deep, Dhoop and Gangajal.After this, offer water to Lord Shiva while chanting Om Namah Shivaya. Also, to worship Shani Dev, light a lamp of mustard oil under the Peepal tree and light another lamp in the Shani temple. Udyapan of the fast should be done only on Trayodashi Tithi.
