Premier Padmini: Mumbai’s Vintage taxi, Premier Padmini will go off-road from today onwards i.e October 30. The new decision came into force after the State Transportation Department recognized that these taxis have already exceeded their lifespan of 20 years.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman Mahindra and Mahindra Group posted on his official X handle after the Premium go off road. He feels that the Kaali Peeli taxi (Premier Padmini) was the grandeur of Mumbai’s road.

Why Premier Padmini Came to An Halt
The decision came into implementation because of the exceeded lifespan of these taxis as per government rules. According to a transport department official, the last Premier Padmini was regitered with RTO dated October 29, 2003. It said that these taxis had the age limit of 20 Years which they have exceeded.
Premier Padmini: An Iconic Journey
Premier Padmini was the integral part of mumbain roads. People had some great memories with Kaali Peeli Taxi. However, Government has taken a good initiative to reduce emission as these taxis exceeded their age limit of 20 years.
