Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the BJP and the central government in the Congress Maharally being held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He said that India is a country of Hindus and not of Hindutvavadi. He said that since 2014, there is a rule of Hindutvavadi in the country, now the rule of Hindus has to be brought back.
Explaining the difference between Hindus and Hindutvavadi, he said that Mahatma Gandhi was a Hindu and Nathram Godse was a Hindutvavadi. They want power, not truth. And Hindu always stays with the truth and is never afraid.
“Mahatma Gandhi spent his entire life in search of the truth, while Hindutvavadi Godse pumped three bullets into him,” Rahul Gandhi said.
He said, “I want to tell you the difference. The path of Hindus is that of truth and they are ready to even die for truth. The Bhagavad Gita asks Hindus to find the truth. On the other hand, Hindutvavadis have nothing to do with the truth and are thirsty for power. They are full of hatred because of their fear.”
Taking a dig at the ruling government at the Centre, Rahul Gandhi said, “Since 2014, Hindutvavadis have been in power while Hindus have been out of power. These [Hindutvavadis] are false Hindus.”
“This rally is about inflation and unemployment. You all are seeing the condition of the country. You have been at the receiving end of price rise”, Rahul Gandhi adds.
He added, “Leaders are not running the country, but 3-4 capitalists are.”

Describing Hindu and Hindutva as two different words, Rahul said that just as two souls cannot have one soul, in the same way two words cannot have the same meaning as each word has a different meaning. He said that a Hindu is one who is not afraid of anyone, who is embraced by everyone.
