In the midst of the ongoing conflict between CM Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot faction, now former in-charge of Punjab and former minister Harish Chaudhary has also opened a front against Chief Minister Gehlot. He alleged that despite Gehlot’s promise, the cabinet meeting did not decide on the discrepancy related to OBC reservation. Two days ago a cabinet meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Harish Chowdhary, former in-charge of the Punjab Congress and a strong Jat leader of the Congress, alleged that in this meeting a decision was to be taken on an issue related to the discrepancy of OBC reservation, but the issue was deliberately pushed forward in this meeting.
What did Harish Chowdhary say?
Harish Chaudhary said that I have met Gehlot many times and demanded a solution to this issue and during this he also agreed.
He claimed that Chief Minister Gehlot had told him that the dispute would be resolved in the cabinet meeting, but why is it being delayed before Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra arrives in Rajasthan?
Chaudhary warned that if the solution is not found, he will hit the road against his government.
There was so much bickering among the ministers regarding OBC reservation that the discussion of the cabinet meeting started leaking on social media. On social media, a minister Pratap Khachariawas was accused that on his behest, CM Ashok Gehlot has taken the matter forward. While giving clarification on this, Khachariawas said that OBC is not against reservation. He told that even in the meeting, I had not given any opinion to the CM regarding this issue.
What is the matter ?
In the year 2018, an order was issued to give reservation to ex-servicemen in jobs in OBC reservation. Now the OBC class in Rajasthan is demanding to cancel the order to give reservation to the ex-servicemen in OBC. There has been a movement on this issue for some time now. Harish Chaudhary has also jumped in this movement against the government. He has also participated in a dharna once.
