Rajnath Singh on social media – eagerly waiting for dialogue
He gave information about this on Twitter on the evening of Monday Told, “Tomorrow on 23rd August I will be in Uzbekistan. I will attend the SCO Defense Ministers meeting there, which will be in Tashkent.”
He further said in the same tweet that he will have a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan Defense Minister Lt Gen Nimamovic there and he will also interact with the Indian community during this time. They are eagerly waiting for it.
Meanwhile, it was also said that Chinese Defense Minister General Wei Fenghe and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu are also expected to attend the meeting, apart from leaders of other member countries. The Defense Ministerial meeting of the SCO is taking place about three weeks before the annual summit of the influential grouping. The conference will be held in Samarkand on 15 and 16 September. At the same time, the Defense Ministry said that during his visit to Tashkent on August 23-25, Singh will meet defense ministers of some of the SCO member countries. However, at the moment it is not clear whether there will be a meeting between Singh and Shoigu.
Singh will address the SCO meeting on August 24. During his visit to Tashkent, the Defense Minister will call on the Defense Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the host country, Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov, the Defense Ministry said in a statement. The interesting thing is that this meeting is taking place at a time when the Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh have been in a tense standoff over several points of tension for more than two years.
