Renault Kwid EV: The company is thinking about launching an electric version of its Kwid hatchback that was made in India. It is currently figuring out how much demand there might be, how much the EV will cost, and whether or not it can be made with local parts. If the launch is given the go-ahead, it probably happen until late 2024.
About Renault Kwid EV
As India gets ready to switch to electric cars, sources have told Reuters that Renault is thinking about building a mass-market electric car in the country. Several automakers are planning to launch new EVs in India because they expect the number of EVs to grow in the country, which recently sold more cars than Japan. Renault’s study shows that the French automaker is moving forward with plans to electrify cars in France, even though it is still talking with its partner Nissan Motor about investing in an electric vehicle (EV) unit that it plans to curve out from its other operations.
The study also shows how people’s ideas are changing about the auto market in the country, which grew a lot in 2022. Even though EV sales in India were on track to be less than 1% of car sales in 2022, the Indian government has made a plan and set a goal to increase EV sales to 30% by 2030.

Renault is bringing out an electric version of the Kwid as part of a larger plan to boost sales in India, where it is still making money even though it sold fewer cars in 2022 than it did the year before. Still, Renault India hasn’t said anything official about the matter yet. CEO Luca de Meo has said that the company’s strategy includes a “strong focus on electrification globally” and that “India is one of the key markets” for the group.
Price of Renault Kwid Electric
The company is likely to set a competitive price for the vehicle in order to gain market share. In fact, this could become one of the least expensive electric cars in the country. It will target the Tata Tiago EV, which is gaining popularity as India’s cheapest electric passenger car.
