Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: With the new Himalayan, Royal Enfield has won Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2024. The most prized Indian motorcycle prize went to the brand-new Royal Enfield Himalayan, surpassing the Triumph Scrambler 400X, which came in second, and the KTM 390 Duke, which came in third.

The Himalayan outperformed competitors including the Harley Davidson X440, KTM 390 Duke, Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Triumph Scrambler 400X, and TVS Apache RTR 310 at this year’s tournament, which was hosted in Delhi.
The bikes were evaluated by a group of fourteen eminent Indian auto experts based on many aspects like cost, mileage, design, comfort, safety, functionality, originality, value for money, and fitment for Indian roads.
The most important honour bestowed upon a motorcycle is the IMOTY. The jury is made up of reporters who test-drive new motorcycles all year long for publications and other media outlets.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 specs
The brand-new, code-named Sherpa 450, 451cc liquid-cooled motor powers the 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan. This generates 40.02 horsepower and 40 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm and 5,500 rpm, respectively. A 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch is attached to this engine. The entire thing is more compact than in the previous Himalayan since the engine is canted forward and the airbox is positioned over the engine.
The Himalayan is available for between Rs 2.69 Lakh (ex-showroom, introductory) and Rs 2.84 Lakh.
