This is the month of Sawan. Religiously, this month is considered to be very auspicious. In the month of Shravan, Lord Shiva is worshipped. Monday fast in Sawan is considered as very auspicious. By fasting on Sawan Monday and worshipping Mahadev, all the sufferings of the devotees are removed. Their wishes are fulfilled. The first Sawan Monday fast was on July 26. The second Sawan Monday fast will now be observed on August 2. On the 9th of August, is the third Monday of Sawan and the fourth and last fast of the month of Sawan will be observed on 16th August. Sawan Monday Vrat Vidhi
- Get up early on Monday and take a bath.
- Go to the Shiva temple and perform jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
- Also offer Gangajal or milk to Mother Parvati and Nandi.
- Perform Rudraabhishek from Panchamrit, offer bel patra.
- Offer datura, bhang, potato, sandalwood, rice on shivlinga and apply tilak to all the gods in the temple.
- Have ghee sugar offered to Lord Shiva, as prasad.
- Perform Lord Ganesha’s aarti.
- Finally perform the aarti of Lord Shiva and distribute the prasad.

Take these precautions
- Ketki flowers should not be used in the worship of Shivaji. It is said that offering ketki flowers angers Lord Shivaji.
- Tulsi is never offered to Lord Shivaji.
- At the same time, coconut water should never be offered on shivlinga.
- Always offer water from bronze and brass utensils to Lord Shivaji.
