Schools, Colleges Reopen in Mizoram: The Mizoram government on Thursday allowed the reopening of schools and colleges, easing restrictions in view of the reduction in corona virus cases.
The state government said in new guidelines that schools and hostels will be reopened for all classes from the new academic session starting April 5.
Also, the standard operating procedure prepared by the School Education Department will be strictly followed.
In the guidelines issued by the state government, it has been said that colleges will be opened for final semester students with immediate effect while offline classes for other semester students will start from the new academic session starting in July.
The government also allowed all prayer places to be kept open during the day and in the evening amid the dwindling cases of corona.
Along with this, the limit on the number of devotees has been removed. Meetings have also been allowed in churches.
On Thursday, 239 cases of Covid-19 were reported in Mizoram, taking the total number of cases of infection to 2,21,977. There is no news of death of any patient and the death toll due to corona remains at 672.
In the last 24 hours, 400 people have become infection free. At the same time, 2,488 patients are under treatment in the state while 2,18,817 people have recovered from the disease.
