Skoda Superb: Skoda is getting ready for the global launch of the brand-new 4th generation Superb on November 2. Before then, official sketches provided intriguing insights into the sedan’s external features. Skoda Superb 4th Gen details
The 2024 Superb adopts the Modern Solid design language from Skoda. It features the recognisable Skoda grille, which has been somewhat changed, along with a slightly altered LED headlamp and DRL arrangement. The fog lamps don’t seem to be present in the design draft, and the fascia has a sports bumper with sharp elements.
The C-shaped tail light arrangement is still there in the back, but it has separate light components that are visible from the outside. The design of the bumper, reflector panels, and boot lip are essentially the same.
The design looks the same from the sides, but it will have new alloy wheels that deviate slightly from the designs. A more realistic posture with respect to the amount of room in the wheel arches and ground clearance is to be expected.
Interior Details
The inside of the Superb’s facelift has already been revealed by Skoda. The dashboard features an inventive rotary push-button system of “Smart Dials” with integrated displays, a head-up display, a 10-inch virtual cockpit, and a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen. As compared to the Superb that is leaving, the brand claims that the headroom and baggage capacity have “grown considerably”.
Sleek and minimalist in design, the centre console tunnel connects to a tunnel that doubles as a front armrest via a phone tray and a few buttons. The drive selector for the automatic gearbox is now positioned behind the steering wheel, and the upholstery is composed completely of polyester material.
Powertrain details
With mild hybrid technology, the 1.5-litre petrol TSI can produce up to 150 horsepower. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol produces 204 horsepower, while the 4×4 variant produces 265 horsepower. The 2.0-litre TDI and its 4×4 variant produce 150 and 193 horsepower, respectively. The 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid will produce 204 horsepower overall. The plug-in hybrid’s range in electric mode is 100 km.
