Sonia Gandhi joins Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Karnataka

Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi was seen active today (October 6). Sonia Gandhi also joined Rahul Gandhi in Mandya, Karnataka on the 29th of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Although Sonia walked on foot for some time, then she returned. After a long time, Sonia participated in some public program of the party. Due to health reasons, she could not even campaign in the last few elections.

Sonia Gandhi joined this yatra a full month after it began. Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was not held on Tuesday (October 4) and Wednesday (October 5) due to Navami and Dussehra. The brakes were put on this journey in Karnataka. Rahul Gandhi and several other Congress leaders and workers started the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7.

Actually, Sonia Gandhi is on a tour of Karnataka during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and before being elected the new president for the party. On the previous day (October 5), she offered prayers at the famous Bhimannakolli temple of Begur village on the occasion of Dussehra being celebrated in the country. Congress Presidential candidate Mallikarjun Kharge will also be seen in the padyatra today.

When was the Bharat Jodo Yatra started?

Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders and workers started the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7 September. The yatra will conclude in Kashmir early next year. A total distance of 3570 km will be covered in this journey. It is believed that the yatra is being done to make the Congress party stronger than before, as well as to raise its voice against inflation and unemployment.
