Stock Market Update: After weakness in global markets, Indian markets also opened lower on Thursday. The Sensex opened at the level of 60050, down about 209 points, while the Nifty opened at the level of 17888.70 with a weakness of 55 points.
Most of the Indian indices are seen trading on the red mark in the opening session on Thursday. Earlier, the US and Asian markets also showed weakness. Currently, Sensex is trading at 60,182.12 points while Nifty is trading at 17,908.60 points.
In today’s trade, there is pressure on the market due to the fall in IT, Pharma stocks. However, buying is visible in the metal, realty and PSU bank sectors.
Earlier, after five days of gains, the US stock markets showed weakness. The Dow Jones closed at the level of 33,980, down by about 172 points. On the other hand, the Nasdaq fell 165 points. SGX Nifty fell by 50 points in Asian markets.
