After the confirmation of monkeypox patient in Delhi, where the NCR area has been alerted, now there is news of two suspected patients of monkeypox in Ghaziabad. One of these patients has been admitted to Loknayak Hospital, while the other patient had reached Ghaziabad MMG Hospital for checkup.
At present this patient is at home. Both the patients have mild fever and red rash on the body. The rash on both of their bodies are like chickenpox but they are being considered as a suspected patient of monkeypox. Samples of both the patients have been sent to the lab of National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for examination.
After new cases of monkeypox, now many states including Kerala, Delhi, Karnataka, Goa, UP have come into alert mode. On the instructions of the Union Health Ministry, an alert has been issued to many states. At the same time, many airports of the country have also been alerted so that the suspects of monkeypox can be monitored.
The first suspect of monkeypox found in Ghaziabad went to Paris two months ago. He has returned from Mumbai 20 days ago. However, after the test report comes from the lab of Pune, it will be confirmed whether both of them have monkeypox or not. The first patient has been kept in the reserve ward for patients suspected of monkeypox at Loknayak Hospital. The patient condition is said to be stable.
At the same time, the Loknayak Hospital administration says that the condition of the patient in whom monkeypox was confirmed on Sunday is now better than before. He is not having fever and there is a lot of relief in the red spots that appear on the body. When the red rash is completely cured, he will be discharged from the hospital.
World Health Organization declared health emergency
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the current monkeypox epidemic a global health emergency. The first case of monkeypox in a child was reported in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (then Zaire). Since then this virus has been spreading more or less from time to time. But this time it is spreading widely. As of 22 July, 16,593 cases have been confirmed in 68 countries.
