The 249 cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine from the Gixxer 250 is used in the V-Strom 250 SX. It is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and produces 26.5PS and 22.2Nm.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX has a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and information such as call and message alerts, speed override warnings, phone battery level displays, and ETA. A USB charging port and Suzuki Easy Start system are also included.
