Engine details
Tata offers three different engine options for the Altroz: a 1.5-litre diesel with 90PS and a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 110PS and 140Nm of torque. Standard transmissions are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic for the normally aspirated gasoline engine, respectively. The 1.2-litre NA powertrain may be combined with the CNG kit, which will be geared towards utilising a five-speed MT. CNG mode will produce 73.4 PS and 95 Nm of output.
The 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine, which generates 90PS/113Nm, is found under the bonnet of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Moreover, the Baleno replaces its outdated CVT with a new AMT automatic powertrain; a 5-speed manual transmission is still available as standard. Although Maruti no longer provides a mild-hybrid model, the Baleno’s engine still features idle start/stop technology for increased fuel efficiency. The automaker states that the manual gearbox model achieves 22.35 kmpl while the automatic achieves 22.94 kmpl. While the engine’s output in CNG mode drops to 77PS and 98.5Nm, its fuel economy rises to 30.61km/kg.
