Tata Harrier And Safari Facelift: Tata Motors has confirmed that Harrier and Safari will be available in 1.5 litre Turbo petrol powertrain by the next year. The automaker has recently launched Harrier and Safari Facelifts with host of new elements in its design language. Both vehicles have achieved 5 star rating in Global NCAP crash tests.
Tata Harrier And Safari: 1.5 Litre Turbo Petrol Engine Expected Launch
The new 1.5 litre TGDI 4-cylinder turbo petrol was displayed by the brand at Auto Expo 2023. The new powerhouse generates the maximum power of 170 Ps and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The upcoming variants are expected to be launched with 6 speed manual and a DCT transmission. The new powertrain option is expected to launch in 2024.
Tata Harrier and Safari: Benefiits of Petrol Variant
The new petrol variant is expected to lower the staring price of both the SUVs. It will make both SUV offerings of the brand more affordable for the customers. Currently, the prices of Tata Harrier starts from Rs. 15.49 which goes upto Rs. 24.49 (ex-showroom) for the top spec model. Whereas, the new Safari comes with the starting price tag of Rs. 16.19 Lakh which ranges upto Rs. 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
As the authorities are getting more vigilant about emissions, introducing a petrol variant in both the SUVs will prove beneficial for the automaker. Completion of the compliance of a vehicle equipped with petrol engine is a much easier task than getting the same for diesel powertrain vehicle. It will be beneficial for buyers too, in case the prices of diesel variant of the SUVs will witness a significant increase. Apart from the petrol variant, the company is also in efforts to manufacture the electric variant of Tata Harrier and Safari.
