Tata Sierra
Let’s start with the newest vehicle in the group, the Tata Sierra EV, which marks the 20-year comeback of the Sierra name. The car was previously on show at the 202 Auto Expo, but it wasn’t quite ready for mass production. The Sierra on display today sports a five-door SUV configuration, unlike the earlier Sierra. The grille has been completely sealed off, the bonnet looks considerably more upright, and the bumper is substantial. The C and D pillars are blacked out, giving the impression of a huge glasshouse.
Although the Sierra EV’s powertrain specifications have not yet been disclosed, anticipate that it will also receive a conventional powerplant. It will replace the Safari as the flagship model in Tata’s portfolio. by 2025, it is anticipated to go on sale.
Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV concept car is the day’s second major reveal. The Omega-arc, which is based on the Land Rover D8 platform, is still used by the electric SUV. To make room for the electrified powertrain, which Tata claims will allow V2L (vehicle to load) and V2V (vehicle to vehicle) charging capability, the majority of the chassis has been modified. Tata has not yet provided any details, but we can anticipate that the SUV will have a much larger battery than the Nexon EV, probably between 60 and 70 kWh.
Even though it shares a similar appearance with the Harrier, the EV has several redesigned components to set itself apart. The split LED headlamps on the SUV are the same, but a full-width LED light bar connects them. A new front bumper has been added, and the grille has been sealed off. A full-width LED taillamp is added to the back. The SUV has.EV badging is all over it. The Harrier EV doesn’t feature a tonne of concept components, so it’s probable that the production-spec version will resemble this one quite a bit.
